Today was Be Your Best Self Day! We started out the day with separating into three groups, all set out to tackle very differnt causes. I went to the assist Penelope's Closet which provides funds for the Penelope House. The Penelope House serves as a safe haven for women who have suffered from domestic violence. We helped make 4th of July window displays and sort through the stores new shipments of supplies. Then we went back to the Junior League of Mobile to eat lunch and share our volunteer experiences. I was touched by some of the girls stories one in paticular was from Brooke (Vermont) who volunteered with the Goodwill Easter Seals. She grew close with a boy named Elijah with cerebal palsy whose story was incredible. Also I was persoanly touched by a poem a young girl wrote after having to call Penelope's House in search of assistance for her mother. She named this organization her "Happily Ever After."
Rehearsal was also a huge success! Fitness was so much fun again all positivity radiating from all the girls! Then tonight was our dinner with our state's club sponsors. I fully enjoyed meeting my sponsor from Televox and his wife. Him and his wife are new sponsors therefore were unfamilar with the simple stuff of Junior Miss so I got the opportunity to share with them what makes Junior Miss so special to me and to each induvidual it touches. Just a shot out and thanks to everyone who has helped me make it this far! Thank you for all of your hardwork and dedication.
