Wow!! Today has been nothing but a dream. I have been on cloud nine since landing last night. My host family, the Thorntons, told me to sleep in today, and that is just what I did. I woke up this morning at about 11 and went down stairs to enjoy a breakfast fit for a queen. Sunny-D, strawberries, kiwi, and an amazing breakfast casserole (mom you have some competition), I was so full. After getting ready for the day, Sherrie, Emily, Erin, and I traveled back to the airport to pick up my soon to be roomie. As we entered the airport Azalea Trail Maids lined walls. I met with each girl. And although most of had had conversation on facebook it was nice to finally nice to see a face. Finally my roomie arrived. Megan Wood from Missouri is quite possible my twin, we instantly clicked and have done nothing but laughed ever since. We loaded the car and went for smoothies before returning to the airport for the opening ceremonies. We spent an hour hanging with the other girls and getting to know everyone. When it came time for the ceremony we each escorted down the stairs by a member of the Jr. ROTC. As I looked over the crowd, which had more people than my high school, I couldn't believe I was finally here. After the ceremony ended, I was greeted by my brownie troop. They presented me with flowers and gifts, and asked me questions only 1st graders could. Then I was greeted by my state sponsor Cindy, from Master Boat Builders Inc. I can't wait to see and chat with her again. As we waited for the men to bring the cars around, a group of girls came and asked for my autograph. As if I didn't already feel like a celebrity, I happily signed their books and took pictures with them. We finally left and enjoyed our night with our family. I can't believe that today is over, I can't wait to see what the rest of this experience has to offer!
