hey y'all! just figured i should update my journal...three or so days late! :S
thursday, like all of our days, was very busy! we woke up and got to be at the Junior League of Mobile. from there, they sent us off to three different sites - habitat for humanity, penelopes closet and goodwill easter seals, which i attended. we got to play with the kids there - so fun! read books, made self portraits and got to explore the back of the store! such a good experience. we then went back to the junior league to eat lunch. their current president spoke - such a sweet, caring woman!
though that was all fun, we had to then go to rehearsal. i wont spill any production secrets!
from there, we went to the states club dinner to meet with our states club sponsors. i had the enormous pleasure of eating with the pilots! they are truly some of the most amazing and kind people i have ever met. i'm so blessed to have them in my life! it was so much fun, and the food was great as well :)
friday finally came! the mardi gras ball was highly anticipated that night. in the morning, we drove to the lakewood (or lakeland! :S) golf course with paige, erin, kristen, cindy and me. so, so much fun! we as a jr miss "team" sold mulligans, but then couldnt stay - we had to practice! such a fun car ride filled with music. then, practice! gia let us out early to get ready for the dance :) so, the girls got all gussied up and headed into the downpour to ride in antique, beautiful cars! we finally arrived, and the big moment came : time to meet our dates! luckily, i had a very sweet gentleman by the name of angus to be my date. it was a great time! lots of food, dancing, pictures and fun...and moon pies! woo hoo! the host families came and joined us for the dances "my girl" and "sweet home alabama...roll tide roll! (alright, i've given in. i was told if i like auburn, well thats just too bad!)." then, because adelle had such a great report card, we went to krispy kreme and they gave us a box of doughnuts free! what a great after-dance snack!
saturday brought an early morning, sore legs and tired girls. however, it was totally worth it - we got to roam the "shoe station" and get a southren belle t shirt, jewelery and yellowbox shoes! i also bought a pair of toms...in love!! then, however, we went to rehearsal...or so we thought! they let us go to the gathering area to chill and watch 17 again - so nice! :) then, we rehearsed and had a picnic lunch with our host girlies. then, more practice! as the evening drew nearer, we changed and headed to the bel air mall for autographs - we were treated like celebrities! quite shocking and fun. so many greta people in mobile! then we closed up shop and went home. cindy and i practiced our talents for "talent night with the smiths..."....though mr smith played journey, the rest of the family insisted their talent was watching talents! overall, it has been such great fun!
rillos, summer, er bear and everyone else - thank you so, so much for supporting everything i do! you are all too kind.
shout out to my papa and all other daddys - i love you and happy fathers day!!! see all y'all later, ya hear? :)
