I signed up with a debt consolidation firm called Fresh Start Solutions out of Florida December 2006. In a nutshell, they did not do what they said they would do, negotiate with my creditors. They never contacted most all of the creditors and settled with only two out of about ten. Both settled at full amount owed. Of these two, they said they settled for over $3,000 when I only owed 1,700. So, they got over 2,000 dollars from me. Also, since they did not contact most all of my creditors, it ruined my credit rating which was over 750 at the time. I ended up having to file bankruptcy 8 months ago because of their misrepresentation and unethical practices. Do I have a case to sue? The strange thing is, whomever owned this Fresh Start Solutions sold the business last Spring to another company.
