If I haven't considered myself a "dancer" up until this day.. I sure am convincing myself now! Over the last two days we have spent nearly 15 hours dancing, either in rehearsal with our choreographer Gia or tonight at the MARDI GRAS BALL! Whew, it's been a long but fantastic day.
We started off the morning extremely early at 6:30 meeting together to get shipped off to a golf tournament across the bay being held as a fundraiser for AJM! Us girls mingled with all of the golfers (shout out to the man who confided in me that Idaho is truly the most beautiful state!), and we also sold Mulligans to the players. I figure it's not really cheating when it's for charity, right?
After golf we were zipped back to the church for more rehearsal, where we are really starting to slam our routines! I think I may be absorbing some of the unbelievable dancing talent in the girls around me, because I'm picking up the moves to the routines somehow! But I'm really feeling good about our routines and all together rehearsal time was very fun today.
Naturally, the most looked-forward-to event of this week was tonight's Mardi Gras Ball! We were even released early from rehearsal to begin massive facial and hair reconstruction and to primp for our big dance. We were then shuttled down to the site of the dance in about three dozen amazing antique cars, which were magnificent, even in the pouring rain! We all arrived at the dance, met our dates for the evening (arranged by height... much to the relief of our vertically blessed young women) and began the party! I had a blast with my date, Jake, and we all danced the night away to some great music. What a fun way to connect with the community as well as just let loose and have fun as a group of crazy chicas!
Every day I feel like I'm repeating myself.. but this is such an amazing experience and I really have to pinch myself sometimes because it's hard to believe I got so lucky! I'm learning a lot about all the girls around me, and myself, and am looking forward to all in the upcoming week. Miss you all my loved ones :)

P.S. My roommate (unnamed), is squirming about in my room on the claims of having found her soulmate/lover/future husband tonight at the Ball. Wow. The powers of Mobile.
