This morning started off with a wonderful breakfast with my host family and a fun car ride with my awesome driver. (who is also Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Oklahoma's driver) First on the list for us Junior Misses was volunteering through the Junior League. One group built a play house for Habitat for Humanity, another went to Goodwill to work with the Easter Seals, and the group I was in went to Penelope's Closet. Penelope's Closet is a thrift store used to raise funds for a women's shelter. It was a truly touching experience to see how passionate every worker and volunteer was about their cause of eradicating domestic violence. After volunteering we had rehearsals then lunch with our States Club Sponsors. The States Club Sponsors raise money for each girl participating in America's Junior Miss and they are such a blessing to the program! I'm keeping the blog short tonight because I am quite exhausted :) but cannot wait for tomorrow!
