NBA Player's Salary Placed in Trust Fund
An NBA player's mom is making sure her son has a long career. It involves Philadelphia 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams.
Carter-Williams' mom sys she put everything her son earned for the first year in the NBA in a trust fund, and he can't touch it for three years, that's according to theroot.com.
Twenty-two-year-old Carter-Williams has had a succesfull career with the 76ers so far. In his first game, he finished with 22 pints, 12 assists, nine steals, and the list goes on. But what matters is he helped his team to a season opening victory over the Miami Heat.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Carter-Williams' mother and her best friend, who manage his career together, came up with a plan to ensure he's taken care of financially. The player's rookie contract guarantees him $4.5 millino over this first two seasons.
But don't feel too bad for Carter-Williams, he's not struggling. He still has Nike and Panini Trading Cards endorsement money to live on.
