BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- UAB jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first six minutes and never looked back, defeating South Alabama 92-78 Saturday at Bartow Arena.  USA loses its ninth straight road game to UAB.  The Blazers led by 19 at halftime and were up by as many as 28 before the Jags put together a late rally near the end.  Augustine Rubit led all players with 24 points and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds. Xavier Roberson had 18 and Freddie Goldstein added 13.  The Blazers had five players in double-figure scoring, led by Jordan Swing with 18.  The 92 points allowed are the most to UAB since Feb. 23, 1991, and the most overall since giving up 97 to Louisville on Dec. 4, 2010.
