Mets sign Andrew Brown to minor league deal

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets have signed outfielder Andrew Brown to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Brown appeared in 46 games with Colorado last season and batted .232 with five home runs and 11 runs batted in. He was also an All-Star in the Pacific Coast League with Colorado Springs, finishing the minor league season with 24 homers, 98 RBI and a .308 batting average in 100 games.

The 28-year-old Dallas native also played 11 games with St. Louis in 2011.
