Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians avoided arbitration with outfielder Drew Stubbs and catcher Lou Marson on Friday, signing both players to one-year contracts.

Stubbs was acquired by the Indians on Dec. 11 as part of a three-team, nine- player deal involving Arizona and Cincinnati, where Stubbs had spent his first four seasons.

The eighth overall pick in the 2006 amateur draft, Stubbs hit a career-low .213 with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 136 games with the Reds last season.

Marson, 26, batted .226 with 13 RBI over 70 games with Cleveland last season, his fourth with the club.
