Recap: UNC-Wilmington vs. George Mason
Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Chris Dixon recorded a career-high 30 points as the UNC Wilmington Seahawks defeated the George Mason Patriots, 82-74, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Trask Coliseum.
Dixon was 12-of-16 from the floor, including six boards for the Seahawks (6-10, 1-3 CAA) victory. Keith Rendleman recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Tyree Graham scored 15 points off the bench as UNC Wilmington snapped a four-game losing streak.
For the Patriots (9-7, 2-2), Sherrod Wright scored a team-high 25 points and cleared six rebounds, Patrick Holloway came off the bench to score 11 points but was the only other player in double figures as George Mason had a two-game win streak halted.
George Mason was 11-of-24 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range in the first half, while UNC Wilmington was 13-of-35 from the floor, including four made 3-pointers, leading to a 36-34 advantage for the Seahawks at the half.
UNCW knocked down 18-of-21 at the free-throw line in the second half, giving the hosts some breathing room as they picked up the eight-point win.
UNCW dominated the boards, 51-27, and second-chance points, 26-2.
