TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Four Tuscaloosa nonprofits are hoping residents will show a whole lot of love for a new fundraiser that will serve up barbecue and rock bands on Valentine's Day.

The Tuscaloosa News reports the first Rockin' Red Affair will be held on Valentine's Day this Thursday. A $25 ticket covers self-serve barbecue, live music from several local bands and a T-shirt.

The money will go to four local nonprofit groups - Focus on Senior Citizens, Temporary Emergency Services, Tuscaloosa's One Place and Turning Point.

Janet Zeanah, executive director of Focus on Senior Citizens, says one reason the groups banded together for the Valentine's fundraiser is that recent years have been tough on Tuscaloosa charities because of the down economy and the devastating 2011 tornado.
