(CENTER POINT, Ala.) - Authorities say Center Point Elementary School was more than 80 percent damaged during Monday's tornado and will be bulldozed.
Jefferson County Superintendent Phil Hammonds tells The Birmingham News that Clay Chalkville Middle School has no electricity.
He said all county schools in the Center Point area also will be closed Tuesday.
School system officials planned to meet Tuesday to determine where Center Point Elementary will hold classes.
Hammonds said officials expect that Center Point Elementary will be rebuilt.
The school was built in 2003, and an addition was built in 2007.
At least two tornadoes roared across the heart of Alabama on Monday, killing two people and injuring more than 100 others during the middle of the night.
