TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The governor is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of 73-year-old Kate Ragsdale - a retired University of Alabama professor.
Authorities say a neighbor found Ragsdale dead inside her home in The Highlands neighborhood Feb. 24 after noticing several newspapers in her yard.
Police have said Ragsdale had been dead for days before her body was discovered, judging from the amount of medication left in prescription bottles. Authorities say Ragsdale died of sharp force trauma.
AL.com reports Ragsdale began working for the University of Alabama in 1979 and retired in 2006.
Tipsters are asked to call Tuscaloosa Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867 (STOP).
