PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) The Pascagoula School Board of Trustees is trying to figure out the proper process for changing the district's name, if they decide to agree to a proposal from the city of Gautier.
Last month, the Gautier City Council requested the Pascagoula School District change its name to the Pascagoula-Gautier School District because the district includes schools in both cities.
But, school board president Mike Concannon tells The Sun Herald the board isn't sure of what the process would be to change the name. The board attorney and Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich sent a letter to the state attorney general to find out who needs to approve the change and what the process is for changing the name if the board decides to move forward.
