(PENSACOLA, Fla.) - Local Republicans Watch Primary Results.
Pensacola Republicans gathered to watch the primary results roll in Tuesday night, and they didn't have to watch very long.
"Florida is Mitt Romney country!" said Escambia County Republican Party Chairman Susan Moore.
Minutes after the polls closed the race was called in Romney's favor. It's a race many say is turning into the most exciting GOP primary in decades.
"I can't ever remember it being this focused before," says Jerry Mistretta of Jerry's Cajun Café where the watch party was held.
It's not just Republicans who had their eyes on Florida; local Tea Party members also showed up to see how things would play out.
"It's a winner-take-all state," says Pensacola Tea Party Coordinator John Baker, "Of course that's important to the entire race and it sort of sets the pace for the way a lot of the other states will go too."
Baker says the candidates have started to show their true colors when it comes to how they campaign, and how they would fare in a race against President Obama.
