(GULFPORT, Miss.) The final defendant in a conspiracy to distribute meth in Hancock County has been sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

The Sun Herald reports 32 year old Cameron Scott McLaurin, of Kiln, also was fined $5,000 at his sentencing on Monday.

Senior U.S. District Judge Walter J. Gex III ordered five years of probation to follow McLaurin's release from prison.

He was among nine men prosecuted who were part of a network that distributed meth throughout South Mississippi, including crystal meth imported from Mexico and shipped by the U.S. Postal Service for distribution primarily in Hancock County.
