OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - A hearing for a man accused of killing three people and wounding several others at a party at an Auburn apartment complex has been postponed because he was not transported to the hearing.

The hearing for Desmonte Leonard, who is being held in Montgomery, was set for Wednesday afternoon at the Lee County Criminal Justice Center in Opelika.

Leonard's attorney, Susan James, said that her client was never transported from Montgomery to the Lee County Detention Center. James said the lapse was caused by a miscommunication with the Auburn Police Department.

A trial date was supposed to be set for Leonard at the hearing. The hearing was delayed until May 16 because of the mix-up.
