GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A Gadsden lawyer calls Alabama home, and went to law school at the University of Alabama after graduating from Notre Dame.
But Bill Willard is Fighting Irish all the way.
Willard jokes that he was brainwashed at an early age, when he had a pillow with a Notre Dame crest placed in his crib when he was a baby in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Gadsden Times reports (http://bit.ly/WVDTIi) that Willard moved to Gadsden when he was in seventh grade because his father worked for then-Republic Steel. He went to St. James Catholic School and Gadsden High School. Willard's roots as an Irish Catholic were in his blood.
Now, as Alabama prepares to face Notre Dame in the Jan. 7 BCS championship game, Willard will cheer for the Irish.
