(PASCAGOULA, Miss.) - The child pornography trial of former Ocean Springs officer Steven Futral has been rescheduled.

Futral was in Jackson County Circuit Court Monday facing 6 counts of child exploitation, or possession of child pornography.

The Mississippi Press reports Futral's trial was set to begin Monday, but it was postponed because of attorney scheduling conflicts.

Circuit Judge Dale Harkey reset the trial for May 7.

If found guilty, Futral faces up to 40 years in prison on each count.

He was initially arrested at his home on June 7, 2010.

Futral was arrested for a second time on June 11, 2010, after three additional images of child porn were discovered on his city laptop.
