MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - Firefighters are battling wildfires in Mississippi's Jackson County.
The Sun Herald reports that a fire in the marshes around the Escatawpa River was reported Saturday afternoon by a sheriff's deputy.
Randy Wilson, fire coordinator with the Mississippi Forestry Commission, said at least 120 acres have burned in an area south of Interstate 10 and east of Highway 63.
The state forestry department also is responding to a report of another wildfire in northeast Jackson County, near the Alabama line.
