(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) - Federal officials are meeting with members of Alabama's Hispanic community to address concerns and fears raised by the state's law against illegal immigration.
Representatives from the Justice Department and four other federal agencies planned the gathering for Monday night at a Roman Catholic church in Birmingham.
They'll discuss health services, fair housing, civil rights, education, food assistance and other services with immigrants.
The Justice Department is also providing contact information for immigrants to report discrimination claims.
Officials say the meeting is meant to address fears and concerns over the state crackdown on illegal immigrants.
The Obama administration and private groups are suing to block the law, parts of which has been put on hold by courts.
Republican leaders say they're looking at tweaking the law during the legislative session.
