(MOBILE, Ala.) - Firefighters have ruled a blaze that destroyed the attic of a local daycare accidental.
Mobile firefighters responded to a fire in a closed daycare on Sunday night, January 22.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. and firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the roof upon arrival at approximately 5:35 p.m.
They say once inside firefighters discovered fire in the attic of Teddy Bear Child Care.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the attic preventing it from spreading to other parts of the structure.
According to the owner, the building has been closed while renovating.
The cause of the fire appears to be faulty electrical wiring located in the attic.
Damage is estimated at approximately $25,000.
No injuries were reported.
