BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The man who served as chief administrative officer for Mayor A.J. Holloway's first two terms in office will return to the job.
The Sun Herald reports David Nichols will replace David Staehling, director of administration, who is retiring after 20 years with the city.
On Tuesday, Holloway will ask the city council to approve the appointment. Nichols is scheduled to start in January as Staehling retires.
The 56-year-old Nichols currently serves as director of Economic and Urban Development for Gulfport. He earns $105,000 a year, and Holloway proposes matching that salary.
Holloway said Nichols will put his experience to work in the city's daily operations.
