(JASPER, Ala.) Authorities are investigating the crash of a small plane in the Jasper area.
Witnesses tell WBRC-TV that the plane went down around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Walker County sheriff's deputies, Saragossa Fire Department and Alabama State Troopers were searching for the wreckage in an area off Highway 5. Search crews said they were having a difficult time getting to the plane because it crashed into a heavily wooded area.
Few details were immediately available, and it wasn't known how many people were on board.
Jasper is about 40 miles northwest of Birmingham.
