(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) Alabama first lady Dianne Bentley will be at Prattville Christian Academy and join members of the school's Key Club in donating used cell phones to HopeLine.

Bentley will participate in an event at the school at 10 a.m. Friday.

HopeLine is an initiative sponsored by Verizon Wireless that collects wireless devices and accessories that are no longer being used. The phones are to be recycled and in some cases sold with phones and proceeds being used to benefit victims of domestic violence. Key Club members held a drive this week to collect used cell phones.

The first lady has led various efforts to collect thousands of cell phones for HopeLine. She will join with the students to make another substantial donation.
