NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A 32-year-old Alabama man has been arrested in connection with a video appearing to show an unconscious LSU fan being abused by someone in an Alabama jacket after the BCS football championship.

New Orleans police say Brian Downing of Smiths Station, Ala., was booked late Thursday on allegations of sexual battery and obscenity for allegedly putting his genitals on the face of an LSU fan who appeared unconscious.

Police say sex crimes detectives met Downing at his attorney's office in New Orleans before arresting him.

He looked at the ground as officers escorted him into the jail.

Neither he nor the officers answered questions.

I do not approve of the idiot doing the infamous "tea-bagging" to the LSWho fan and I don't condone that kind of behavior by anyone. However, it's a sign of the times when parents don't raise their children right and people doing dumb things just to post on the Internet and try to get attention with YouTube. The moron should be fined and put on short probation time, no jail time should ever be administered for this ignorant prank. No way this guy should be a registered sex offender, the laws were written for other crimes like rape and child molestation and such, not people acting foolishly after a football game. A lot of cities like Detroit, Philly, Vancouver and Los Angeles decide to riot, set fires, loot stores after a championship game being won. It appears that the New Orleans Police applied a lot of resouces to this minor case and with the constant murders happening in New Orleans almost daily one would think that they would be focused on all the killings in the city. "The new year started bloody, with 12 people murdered and 47 wounded by gunfire in the first 12 days of January. Murders in New Orleans jumped 14 percent in 2011 to 199, making the city's homicide rate the highest in the nation at nearly 58 murders per 100,000 residents, or 12 times the national rate."

He is an embarrassment to the State of Alabama. This comment has nothing to do with football, even though I am an avid Auburn fan. No man needs to be treated like that. It is childish, disgusting, inhumane, and too many other adjectives to list.
