MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley says Jeana Ross is the state's new Department of Children's Affairs commissioner.
Bentley announced the appointment in a statement Thursday morning.
The governor's office said Ross has served as a federal programs coordinator and grant administrator for Madison City Schools. Bentley says she has developed, directed and evaluated programs that impact Alabama's children from the time they enter pre-K classes until graduation.
Her appointment is effective immediately.
