DECATUR, Ala. (AP) Police in Decatur say a 20-year-old man has been arrested on a capital murder charge in the death of his girlfriend's 8-month old son.
Authorities say the baby's mother was at Decatur General Hospital with another child Tuesday when her boyfriend Orlandos Deloney called 911 saying the baby fell off the bed as wasn't breathing.
Medics took the baby to Decatur General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The boy was taken to a lab in Huntsville for an autopsy and the coroner determined the baby's death was not accidental. Officials declared the boy's manner of death a homicide, but details on his injuries have not been disclosed.
Deloney is being held without bond in the Morgan County Jail and it is unclear if he has a lawyer.
