(MOBILE, Ala.) - The Abba Shrine Center in Mobile made life a little better for some kids Sunday.

The group held its annual Christmas party for Children Sunday afternoon.

Organizers of the event say those attending are the little ones they take care of and transport to and from the hospital.

Santa was also on hand to give presents.

It is about time the shriners get a little recognition. They work behind the lines and usually off camera every day helping children whose parents cannot afford to help themselves. $20,000 specialty plane rides to northern hospitals for spinal and burn treatment, van transport including hotels and meals for kids and their parients to texas and louisiana shriner hospitals where treatment is free too. They are a true gift asking nothing in return, to the people of Mobile and the surrounding area!
