(PASCAGOULA, Miss.) A 37 year old Vancleave man will serve 35 years in prison for soliciting sexually explicit pictures from a 13 year old child over the Internet while he was on probation for sex crimes against children.

The Sun Herald reports Circuit Judge Robert Krebs sentenced John Alexander Parker in Jackson County Circuit Court on Thursday. The judge gave Parker 30 years for child exploitation, and ordered 25 years to be served day for day. Parker pleaded guilty Nov. 29.

Assistant District Attorney Angel Myers said the exploitation charge came after a tip from an Internet service provider.

District Attorney Tony Lawrence said Parker's history of sexual abuse of children and his use of the Internet to victimize a child warranted a long prison term.
