SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden and more than 20 members of the U.S. House and Senate are scheduled to participate in Selma's Bridge Crossing Jubilee.

The annual event Sunday commemorates the beating of voting rights marchers on "Bloody Sunday" in 1965 as they began a voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery. The march prompted Congress to pass the Voting Rights Act, which opened Southern polling places to millions of African-Americans.

One of the jubilee organizers, state Sen. Hank Sanders of Selma, said this year's event has special significance because the U.S. Supreme Court is considering a challenge to part of the Voting Rights Act. That challenge was brought by Shelby County, but it could affect all states covered by the Voting Rights Act. A ruling is expected by late June.

I read this morning that VP Biden and “more than 20 US senators and representatives” lead a group across the Bridge in Selma, Alabama, yesterday. Racism is a huge problem in USA today ; I have a huge scar in my life from BLACK racism in VA and particularly Washington DC. As homeless I lived for 6 months (April-Sep. 2012) in black ‘ghetto’ in NE (DC): for so many blacks, to have a black President is symbol of “ Black power”( they forget if ONLY blacks voted for Pr. Obama , he will never be elected: from 314 million Americans, blacks are around 13%) ! For some of them, “ DC is NOT American city; it is town which belong to blacks”??? Many Blacks do NOT respect other people, but they want that everybody else respect them? For many of them, when they made mess, ALWAYS somebody else is guilty? Part of Black racism is Anti-Semitism speech (which part I heard 3 times on 7H street, DC)- using Bible and Jesus against Jewish people??? Or on NY Ave shelter, black had Bible ‘class’ about : ” Jews put Jesus on cross”?... I gave my support to Obama’s re-election, but I keep ALL blacks far away from myself!!! (10.27.12. Times of India) Associated Press poll finds (with researchers from Stanford University, the University of Michigan and NORC at the University of Chicago) that “ the number of Americans with anti-black sentiments jumped to 56 %, up from 49 % during the last presidential election… Majority of both Democrats and Republicans held anti-black feelings (55 % of Democrats and 64 % of Republicans), as did about half of political independents (49 %)… Most Americans expressed anti-Hispanic sentiments, too ( 57%)… My conclusion(“mark my words”): Blacks do NOT need enemy; they are the biggest enemy to itself!!! PS: (Q) Why black people use N word in every day conversation?
