Update: Police in Daphne say the inmate who escaped during a work release program has been caught in Okaloosa County, Florida.

DAPHNE, Ala. (WPMI) Police in Daphne are looking for an escaped inmate.

Chris Davidson disappeared after police say he managed to get the keys and steal a 2007 Honda CRV.

The car was parked at the Daphne Animal Shelter where Davidson was working as a trustee Wednesday morning.

Davidson was serving time for unpaid traffic violations.

"To escape from custody, I know it's not a traditional jailbreak but you know he was in custody and he did escape so there's a level of well somebody who is willing to do that definitely could be dangerous," said Cpl. Jason Vannoy with the Daphne Police Department.

Police say Davidson has a criminal record for previous drug and theft arrests. He now faces up to 10 years in prison for escape and for allegedly stealing the Honda CRV.
