MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A former USA student faced a jury for the first time Monday, charged with murdering a young man in his campus dorm room. Prosecutors say Brandon Ajizadeh stabbed James Dean more than 20 times with a butcher knife.

Dean was not a student at USA. Investigators say it all may have started over racy cell phone photos.

The discovery of the body of 19-year-old Dean was ruled a murder, the first in 30 years at USA. Dean was found July 10, 2011, inside Ajizadeh's Delta 6 dorm room.

Police say Ajizadeh confessed to the killing. Just before the trial began Monday afternoon, Local 15 News talked with Ajizadeh's attorney, Jeff Dean, who said his client, at the time of Dean's death, was surrounded by people who were using him for money and other gifts.

When Local 15's Darwin Singleton asked Dean who he believes killed Dean and how it happened, he would only say that we will see what the evidence produces.
