LUCEDALE, Miss. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of the men involved in the south Mississippi shooting that killed a man and left his father and another man seriously injured.
George County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Shonna Pierce says the shooting happened early Sunday after 52-year-old Jerald Mitchell Cochran confronted a man for doing "donuts" in a truck on their neighbor's land.
Pierce says the truck's driver, Clifford Byrd, later went to Cochran's house and began shooting when Cochran and his adult sons opened the door.
Pierce says Cochran's son, 27-year-old Nathan Mitchell White, was shot once and killed. Cochran was hit multiple times. His other son, 22-year-old Ryan White, grabbed a gun and shot Byrd several times.
Byrd and Cochran are hospitalized in serious condition.
