(CHUNCHULA, Ala.)  Kenny Richardson, 19, is in custody accused of murdering his stepfather with an axe.

Richardson told our cameras that he killed his stepfather over an argument. Richardson wouldn't elaborate on what that argument was about or why he got so angry.

Deputies walked Richardson into the Mobile County Sheriffs Office for questioning Wednesday morning after he called 911 and turned himself in.
Investigators say he murdered Rayford Rivers, 67, Tuesday night at their home on John Shinn Road. The two lived their alone. Richardson's mother died last year.

Deputies say the teen hit his stepfather multiple times on the head with an axe.

Neighbors told investigators that Richardson was a loner, quiet and even practiced witchcraft. Richardson denied the witchcraft allegations.

Them crazy cajuns get a batch of meth, crack, or moonshine in them and start hacking away! What a yellow bellied coward he is by attacking a AARP eligible enrollee at his strapping youthful age of 19? I bet he could take a 75 year old Granny with no problem.

@joesmith The southeast is no different than anywhere else, you sound like an uneducated individual with much prejudice. This murder is sad, but has little to do with the region.

Assaulted leads us to believe he is alive. The correct title should be, CHUNCHULA MAN MURDERED.

The man wasn't assaulted, he was murdered. Fix the title. Assaulted means he is still alive.
