(DAPHNE, Ala.) - Daphne Police say a man found dead in his Lake Forest Apartment Sunday had been strangled with two electric cords by his roommate.

Police say Shaun Carmadelle will be charged with capital murder in 23-year-old Steven Mccullough's death. Investigators say he had the victim's vehicle after his death.

Mccullough was found dead inside his apartment at the Grande Point Complex after someone called police to check on him.

The Daphne Police Department, along with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office, The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, the Baldwin County Coroner and the FBI processed evidence from the scene.

Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 251-621-9100 or 251-621-2839.

shaun has been estranged from his family for awhile because of his lifestyle. He recently was kept from seeing his kids because on his last visit he took them with him to purchase drugs. His entire family has prayed for the family of Mr. Mccullough. His children cant even fully comprehend all that has happened. They are just a mess. they are ages 8-12. Not only did he take a mans life he has hurt and ruined so many others. He has been in an out of jail and rehabs, had they of kept him a man would be alive today.

Fed, fed. Three months? Must not have been too bad - you hung on for three months. Could have stopped the "nonesense" sooner - but, wait it may not have been "nonsense" the first two-plus months - hmm. Got to be a story to tell there.

I live in Sea Cliff N. and love it! I know my neighbors, they know me and feel very safe there. We keep an eye out for each other, know who should be around and who shouldnt. I have seen no evidence of anything illegal taking place there. I'm not naive but perhaps it's Sea Cliff South??

@jaimlyn711 You are right! It is a good place to live and this incident will not make me leave my lake view apartment. This could've happened anywhere in Daphne. I spoke with Steven last week, just days before he died, he even offered to take my son fishing, I think was just trusted the wrong person.... So sad!

It's been denied by some friends of the victim that drugs were involved, however, the suspect has a few previous arrests involving drugs and drugs may be involved on his part. Perhpas the Doper roommate decided to kill the man for drug money? Just goes to show you can't even trust the cat sleeping in the next bedroom. I had a roomate for a 3 months in the 1990s and he had a bad habit of picking up Cougar Skanks from Shantilly's on a nightly basis and dragging the whores home with him. I had to put an end to that nonsense because their husbands were closing in on the Dude picking up their cheating skanky wives.

Me and my wife know Steve and Laura very well. I know he is up in heaven fishing with everyone there, just like he did down here with us. The last time I saw him was Thursday, he came to my house after fishing in Gulf Shores. We were supposed to go today on his little boat. I hope that the killer gets what he deserved because Steve is the kindest most giving person I have known in a long time.

U r welcome lucylou and I appreciate your speaking up! Steve was exactly as you described and this was so senseless. He was the kindest, most giving neighbor I have lived by in years! His wife and I are best friends and it hurts me for people to assume drugs was the reason. The truth will come out and then everyone will know.

Thank you loweralabamagirl8! I lived in the building next door to Steven for 2 years. Steven was a hard working honest man who would give anyone the shirt off his back. The man worked two jobs just to make ends meet and could not stand drugs or anything they stood for.If this senseless murder has anything to do with drugs, it was because of the murderer, not Steven.Apartments are not the only place who have drug problems, homes and neighborhoods do too. Granted.. I could not stand living at Grand Pointe but you can't place blame there, the drugs are no worse off there than they are anywhere. The man who murdered Steven will pay, he will pay dearly and what is the saddest part is that Steven would have given him anything he asked for..No reason for the senseless murder.
