(MOBILE, Ala.) - Passengers aboard the cruise ship "Fantasy" who could not disembark yesterday due to heavy fog are now off the ship.

"Fantasy" docked at the Mobile Port early Tuesday morning, when the ship's captain deemed it safe to do so.

Crew members aboard the Carnival ship are cleaning and re-stocking the ship in order to set sail again today.

Passengers boarding the ship today will have a shorter voyage than originally planned.

Fog Delays Fantasy, Passengers Take it in Stride

(MOBILE, Ala.) - They were supposed to be sailing the high seas, but instead, some passengers scheduled to embark on Carnival's Fantasy cruise ship were entertained with movies in Mobile Monday night.

Heavy fog delayed the cruise scheduled to leave the Port City Monday. Earlier in the morning, the ship's captain decided conditions were not safe enough to navigate Fantasy back into the port, to return from its previous trip.

For the most part, would-be passengers took the news in stride.

"We are stuck for the night but we are going to enjoy," said Robert Pittman, who made the trip to Mobile from Tuscaloosa. "It you cant beat what mother nature does, "

For the out-of-town passengers, Monday night hotel vouchers were handed out. Passengers said they were also offered refunds and credits, under the condition that they accept those offers Monday or lose them.

"You can't get too mad about it," said Graham Carpenter, also of Tuscaloosa. "What are you going to do? We ain't got nowhere else to go. We're not getting our money back. We'll get on the boat tomorrow and have a good time."

Originally, this voyage's itinerary called for five days, with two stops. Instead, Carnival hopes to embark Tuesday on a four-day cruise, with just one stop.
