MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Police officials confirm a bank robbery suspect killed himself after he held a woman at gunpoint and took off in her car.
Okaloosa County Sheriff's officials confirm they were told to be on the lookout for a red four door vehicle driven by the now deceased suspect shortly after 5 Friday night.
The call went out for a reckless vehicle traveling westbound on Hwy 90.
Okaloosa County officials say they didn't make contact with the vehicle, and that Walton County officials also joined in the pursuit and were unable to make a stop.
From there, officials say Smith got onto US 90 in the direction of Interstate 10.
Parris Smith was wanted in connection with a bank robbery at the Bank Trust on Dauphin Street earlier this week.
They say Friday around 2:15 p.m., Smith broke in to a home on Maury Drive. The homeowner came home while Smith was still here, that's when police say Smith held the woman at gunpoint, demanding her money and car keys.
Police say Smith took off in the woman's red 2005 Honda Accord.
