(PRICHARD, Ala.) July 8 - Acting on a tip, SWAT teams surrounded a home on Mill Street in Mobile hoping to catch an accused murderer. They were hoping to catch William Kidd.

Kidd was not there, but the search does not stop there, because agencies including the U.S. Marshall's Office are turning up the heat on the accused serial shooter.

U.S. Marshalls Inspector Sixto Boyer says Kidd is No. 1 on their most wanted list until he is caught. Boyer says the U.S. Marshalls will not stop until they have Kidd in custody.

Prichard police have already found the gray truck used in at least one of the drive-by shootings. It had been spray painted black, and it was riddled with bullets. Police say the truck had been carjacked last week.

Police are constantly reminding the public that Kidd is a "dangerous man," and police have linked him to several additional crimes.

Law enforcement sources say Kidd is wanted for questioning in the kidnapping and brutal beating of a Mobile woman. One man has been arrested in that crime: Kendrick Johnson.

Johnson's mother says she does not know whether her son knows him, but her son is not friends with William Kidd.

Police are not officially saying Kidd is a suspect in the case, but they say finding him is a top priority.

Law enforcement officials say Kidd is armed with an AK-47, and they believe he will not go down without a fight.
