Two in Hospital After Boat Fire in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) Officials in Gulf Shores are investigating after a boat fire sent two people to local hospitals. 

Gulf Shores officials tell Local 15 that Gulf Shores Fire-Rescue responded to the call of a vessel fire at 12:40 Saturday afternoon.

Officials say four people were on board and two were transported to area hospitals.

One male victim was life flighted to USA Medical Center with a non-life threatening leg injury

The female victim, who suffered back injuries from the explosion, was transported to South Baldwin Hospital as is in good condition.

It happened on the Intercoastal Waterway.

Gulf Shores Police Department, Gulf Shores Fire-Rescue and Bon Secour Fire Department all responded to the scene.

Alabama Marine Police was also contacted.
