PENSACOLA, Fla. (WPMI) A fatal car accident claimed the lives of two people early Saturday morning.
It happened shortly after 12 a.m. on Blue Angel Parkway near Cerny road.
Witnesses say the vehicles were speeding.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say an Acura and a Volkswagen were heading southbound on Blue Angel Parkway approaching the intersection of Cerny Road, when the Volkswagen attempted to pas the Acura.
Officials say the Volkswagen lost control and hit a tree.
Both the 32-year-old driver and the 21-year-old passenger died on the scene.
Their names have not been released.
Officials say the other driver left the scene. That vehicle is described as a metallic blue late model Acura.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol.
