Two big companies have reportedly placed billion-dollar orders for Airbus planes.

Reuters reports Irish aircraft leasing company Avolon has ordered another 20 Airbus A320neo medium-haul aircraft. This comes after a previous commitment to buy 15 A320neo planes that was announced last July. Initial estimates for the order put the price tag at more than $1 billion.

Eturbonews.com reports Middle East Airlines-Air Liban has also inked a big deal with Airbus. The company has reportedly signed a firm contract for ten aircraft in the A320neo family.

In the coming months Airbus is expected to begin construction of a production facility at Brookley Field in Mobile.

If I needed big planes, I'd' order from Airbus, too! The Boeing "Dreamliner" is one BIG BAD dream in that parts keep falling off, it catches fire, etc. I wouldn't fly on one of them. Boeing can't even get the military jet tankers built even they used Obumma bin Lying to screw EADSout of the contract that EADS rightfully won in bidding!
