ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) Deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office have arrested two men connected to an officer involved shooting on February 16.
Chad Hosford was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of controlled substance, and throwing a dangerous missile into an occupied vehicle. Hosford was booked on $17,000 bond. He has since bonded out.
Johnathan Holliman is charged with attempting to elude, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and disarming a law enforcement officer. At last check, Holliman remained behind bars.
Investigators say a deputy was trying to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle refused to stop. That's when the suspects led the deputy on a short chase before losing control on Highway 41 and Tippens Eddy Road.
The suspects took off running, but the deputy caught up with them, resulting in a struggle where the deputy was shot.
The deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave. The deputy's name has not been released.
