ATMORE, Ala. (AP) - State troopers said driver David Bentley of Greenville was killed when his cargo truck ran off Interstate 65 and exploded.
The accident about 10:15 a.m. Monday closed the northbound lanes for hours between Atmore and Flomaton. One lane had reopened about 3:35 p.m.
The truck with a cargo of non-hazardous materials struck a guard rail and ran down an embankment into a creek before the explosion.
Troopers said the driver was badly burned and died at the scene.
