MOBILE BAY (WPMI) We're still waiting for the Carnival Cruise ship Triumph to arrive in Mobile.

The Triumph reached the Dauphin Island buoy early Thursday afternoon, but then there was a setback as the ship was ready to head into Mobile Bay. One of the tugs malfunctioned then a tow line on another snapped.

So with the delays, Carnival now estimates the Triumph will pull into the Cruise Terminal in Mobile between 10 p.m. And midnight.

Once the ship docks, Carnival officials say it could take another four to five hours for the passengers to disembark.

Tourists were out on Dauphin Island all morning Thursday, trying to catch a glimpse of the ship. Local 15's John Dzenitis talked with one tourist from Ontario, Canada. He said he was expecting a quiet vacation on Dauphin Island, but got something else.

"It's something to see. I've never seen so many people on the island," the man said.

One visitor from Pennsylvania had an interesting take on the situation.

"I just feel bad for the people of Mobile, for all they've had to go through," said Bill Klem. "I just hope the cruise line sees it and does the right thing."

Klem is referring to Carnival's discontinuation of the cruise ship Elation's service out of Mobile's cruise terminal back in 2011. The city has been working since to secure another cruise ship.
