(MOBILE, Ala.) Thousands converge onto downtown Mobile for BayFest, we ran into so many people from our region, some folks from Mississippi say it first seem like they're from out of town being right next door.
Memphis, Tenn., Columbus Ohio, you name it music fans are here. We talked to some BayFest first timers, too. Though many have been to music festivals before, just not one with stages scattered throughout a city's downtown. With such high tier talent.
"We travel all over. We're music freaks," said one fan. "Were here for Pat Benatar and Journey."
"I love BayFest," Vanessa Gibson of Gautier, Miss., said. "For the entertainment value."
"Found out about it a couple of weeks ago," another fan said. "Been kind of pumped about it ever since."
"It's going to be a huge concert. Pretty good show," James Humphries from Oxford, Ala., said.
Local 15 News spoke with BayFest organizers Friday they tell me ticket sales are up from last year. Though they couldn't put a finger on how many we're sold.
