(MONROEVILLE, Ala.) Sept. 24 - Officials at Thyssenkrupp say they are "extremely happy" with the turnout and number of applicants during their two day job fair.
More than 1,000 people turned in applications during the 12-hour fair at Alabama Southern Community College in Monroeville. Tuesday, 652 people turned in applications in Jackson.
Thyssenkrupp plans to hire more than a thousand people in the next few months for its new steel mill in Calvert, which is scheduled to be up and running by spring 2010.
