Free Swine Flu Shots Given Out

(LOXLEY, Ala.) Nov. 13  - In Baldwin, Mobile and Washington counties, the lines were short and the shots were free. Between the three clinics, thousands of swine flu vaccines were given out Friday.

It was the third clinic for Mobile and Baldwin Counties in the last month. In Mobile, 4,000 dosese were available. Baldwin County had more than 1,000.

Mobile County Health Department Spokeswoman says there were a hundred people in live when she got to the clinic.

But, most of the people getting the shots weren't in high risk groups.

Health officials say the rules haven't changed. The regulations are still taken from the CDC, but legally, officials can't turn anyone away.

Of Mobile County's doses, a little more than 1,000 were given. In Baldwin County, the health department went through 1,300 doses and had to end the clinic an hour early.

Health officials say by December they expect the vaccine to be available to everyone.
