(MOBILE, Ala.) Thousands are expected to gather downtown to watch the MoonPie drop. Some famous faces will also be among the crowd.

Local 15 News sat down with The Commodores as they were getting ready for the festivities. They told us, they are going to bring it.

The Commodores just got through a whirlwind tour through South Africa, and they tell us this is like a homecoming. The band started in Tuskegee, so what better way to ring in the New Year, than the MoonPie drop,
Alabama's biggest new year's celebration? They even brought their own fireworks, and pyrotechnics.

There are three commodores, unfortunately, William King, one of the founding members, got sick in South Africa, and couldn't make it for Mobile's celebration. The rest of the band says they'll make up for it, the show will go on,
and are promising one heck of a show.
